Civil Wedding

The Paphos District has three Town Halls where a Civil Ceremony can take place.

  Paphos Town Hall       Peyia Gardens

                                Geroskipou Gardens

Your Civil Ceremony will take place in the outdoor gardens at both Peyia and Geroskipou.  For 2007 Paphos Town Hall will have an outdoor setting, in addition to their indoor venue.  For your convenience Civil Ceremonies can also take place within your hotel or hotel gardens.

Civil Weddings usually take place within the Town Hall settings between 10am & 2.00pm Monday to Friday (except Bank Holidays)  In- hotel Civil Weddings take place after 2.00pm at an extra charge, paid direct to the Town Hall.  The Mayor or Senior Registrar of the Municipality will conduct the Ceremony in English.  The ceremony is very similar to that in the UK, taking approximately 10 minutes.  You will be issued with your Wedding License, written in English,  immediately following the ceremony.

Church Wedding

Paphos has two beautiful Churches:

Ayia Kyriaki - This beautiful church has a long history.  It is situated in the grounds of an Early Christian Basilica.  The church offers marriage ceremonies to both Anglican & Catholic denominations.  Access to the inside of the church is by a wooden bridge, giving excellent accessibility to wheelchair guests.  Once inside you will find it cool & spacious, offering seating for up to 100 guests.

St. George Chapel - Considerably smaller & more modern, than Ayia Kyriaki, St.George Chapel is situated in the grounds of the St.George Hotel.  The chapel offers marriage ceremonies to both Anglican & Catholic denominations.  Inside this pretty little chapel you will find beautiful frescos to the walls and dome.  There is seating for 24 guests, with standing room for a further 12 guests.  However, there are  at least 12 steps leading up to the chapel, which may not be suitable for wheelchair access.

RELIGIOUS BLESSING & RENEWAL OF VOWS

Minister Dalene

Dalene has conducted more than 400 Blessings in 7 years & has gained an insight into & developed a sense for the needs of couples in making their Wedding Day truly special & memorable.

A Wedding Blessing is not a legally binding marriage service & is preceeded by a Civil Ceremony.  For this reason there is a wide choice of venues to suite each couple's needs.  The service can be conducted in Hotel Chapels, Hotel and/or private gardens, on the beach or for a truely romantic setting, at the famous, Aphrodite Rock, birthplace of the Goddess of Love.

If you wish to reaffirm your commitment to one another a Renewal of Vows will be tailored specifically to your wishes.  It is not a requirement to have a Civil Ceremony prior to a Renewal of Vows.
